The desire
Was to create a place to stay that’s a home away from home for cyclists, bikers, walkers, backpackers, sun sea and sand seekers alike. The Black Sheep Bnb is located in Arbus in the south-west of Sardinia and is home to Sara and Marek.
The difference
Can be seen on one’s arrival. Our rooms feature art, photography and furniture created by us, it is our home after all and not a soulless room for the night.
There are no broken shower curtains, leaking taps or malfunctioning air-con and no noisy neighbours to keep you awake at night. There is free WiFi, a secure garage for bikes and an outdoor seating area.
Each room has an en-suite walk in shower, minibar, television, safe and the latest memory foam mattress and free toiletries. Rooms are cleaned daily and breakfast is served in your room at a time that suits.
We would definitely love to stay again! The room was very nicely furnished with a modern look and was super clean. Additionally, we were served with a delicious breakfast every morning in our room. Sara and Marek were very kind and helpful and always available to answer any questions we had about the surroundings or nearby restaurants! We can warmly recommend!

The sights
Are spectacular the landscape too–an area of outstanding natural beauty far from the madding crowd.
On our doorstep we have Piscinas, the largest natural beach in Europe with sand dunes as high as 60m and the stunning Costa Verde a 47km stretch of coastline that is simply breathtaking.
The historical sites of industrial mining at Montevecchio and Ingurtosu, the prehistoric megalithic constructions of the nuraghi and delicious artisanal cuisine served alongside some of the best wines Italy has to offer.
If you enjoy cycling or walking then perfect roads and trails await with very little traffic.

Care, design, attention to detail and above all to the customer. It's a wonderful place, which I will take with me and which I hope I will soon share with friends. A breathtaking window onto Sardinia! Highly recommended.

The hosts
Friendly, caring, knowledgable and always on hand (a private phone number will be given on check-in) to help book restaurants and advise on what to see and do.
Sara was born in Arbus and speaks fluent English and Spanish. She worked in hospitality for many years in England and presently teaches English and works for the local tourist board.
Marek on the other hand grew up in England and speaks terrible Italian. He is a designer, furniture maker and keen cyclist. Bring your bike, we’ll go for a ride!

The best in Arbus: Style, cleanliness, and incredible hospitality. But the real added value is Sara: a very kind, sunny and super helpful person. She made us feel at home right away, providing us with valuable advice on the area. We will definitely be back!

The name
Was a no-brainer. Some see black sheep as the outsiders of the flock, the odd ones out. We don’t, we see them as individuals, rebels. Like the Prosciutto of Parma the protected La Pecora Nera di Arbus are unique. And so fitting we saw to name our Bnb after them.
